A new species of Metaeuchromius (Lepidoptera, Crambidae) from the Tibetan glacier area of China
Metaeuchromiusglacialis Li, sp. n. is described from the Tibetan glacier area of China. The new species is similar to Metaeuchromiuscirce Bleszynski by the distal projection of costa exceeding the apex of valva, and the phallus with strong spine-like cornuti in the male genitalia. Images of male adult, tympanal and scent organs as well as genitalia of the new species are provided.
متن کاملA new species of Patania from the Hainan Island, China (Lepidoptera, Crambidae)
Patania clava sp. n. is described from the Diaoluo Mountain of Hainan Island, China. The new species is distinguished from its most similar congener, Patania iopasalis (Walker, 1859), by the following features: wingspan 33.0-35.0 mm (vs. 21.0-30.0 mm), ventral cilia of the male antenna as long as the diameter of flagellomere (vs. 1/4), the thick finger-like gnathos (vs. the short broad sheet-li...
متن کاملTwo new species and five newly recorded species of the genus Udea Guenée from China (Lepidoptera, Crambidae)
A checklist of the 31 Chinese species of Udea is given, including the new species and new records. Udea curvata sp. n. and Udea albostriata sp. n. are described and illustrated. Udea exigualis (Wileman, 1911), Udea stationalis Yamanaka, 1988, Udea prunalis (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775), Udea elutalis (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) and Udea cyanalis (La Harpe, 1855) are newly recorded for China.
متن کاملTaxonomic review of the genus Paratalanta Meyrick, 1890 (Lepidoptera: Crambidae: Pyraustinae) from China, with descriptions of two new species.
This study deals with the taxonomy of seven species and subspecies of the genus Paratalanta Meyrick in China. Among them, P. furcata sp. nov. and P. annulata sp. nov. are described as new. The male of P. stachialis Toll & Wojtusiak, 1957 is described for the first time. Images of adults and illustrations of both male and female genitalia are provided, along with a key to all the known Chinese s...
متن کاملA new cryptic species of Nagiella Munroe from China revealed by DNA barcodes and morphological evidence (Lepidoptera, Crambidae, Spilomelinae)
Nagiella occultalis Misbah & Yang, sp. n. from China is described and illustrated. This new species is very similar to N. quadrimaculalis (Kollar, 1844) in general morphological characters of forewing and male genitalia. Molecular evidence shows that these two species diverge in COI barcode region by more than 3.2%. Sequence divergence among the two species is congruent with subtle morphologica...
